Description
This program calculates the flood flow in water basins caused by rainfall, flood routing in rivers and reservoirs. For the calculation of the flood flows in water basins, the Rational method or other empirical formulas may be used. The concentration time is used in the IDF curve to calculate the rainfall intensity. The use of the above formulas is restricted by certain conditions. The program notifies the user in case one or more formulas are out of scope and should not be used. For flood routing in reservoirs the Storage Indicator method is used.

  • In the case of empirical formulas, one of the following five options may be used:
    • Fuller
    • Forti
    • Fanning
    • Iskovski
    • Kuichling.
  • For flood routing in a river the following methods may be used:
    • Muskingum
    • Muskingum - Cunge
    • SCS Convex
    • Kinematic Wave.
  • Solve unlimited number of problems simultaneously.
  • Snyder and SCS synthetic hydrographs.
  • Compare multiple formulas using the same set of data.
  • Graphs visually present the results of flood routing in rivers or reservoirs.
  • Import / export data from / to Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheets.
  • A correction factor for areal precipitation may be used when the rational method is applied.
  • The concentration time can be estimated using the well known formulas of Izzard, California Culverts Practice and Kinematic wave.
  • Formatted output to Microsoft Word for professional printouts with minimal user intervention.
  • Theoretical background has been added in the documentation.
