This program simulates the water cycle of a catchment using monthly time step. You can optionally study the consequences of the impact of climatic change in the water cycle of the catchment by creating synthetic series of precipitation and temperature using stochastic methods. In this way, you can create run scenarios that can be compared to the baseline scenario (without climatic change) thus revealing and quantifying the effect of climatic change.

Features

  • The solver can be customized to fit your needs and it may be used together with climate change experiments.
  • To estimate evapotranspiration it can use one of the following methods:
    • Penman-Montieth
    • Thornthwaite
    • Blaney-Criddle.
  • Supports categories for the following meteorological variables:
    • relative humidity
    • relative sunshine
    • wind speed.
  • Manually enter all the calibration parameters.
  • The model can auto-calibrate itself using an algorithm that optimizes the Nash number (auto-correlation).
  • To study climate change effects, you may use one to 30,000 different experiments that provide that monthly change in precipitation and temperature. You can also create synthetic precipitations and temperatures series to generate multiple scenarios keeping certain statistical factors constants each time. Stochastic models supported:
    • AR(1)
    • AR(2)
    • MA(1)
    • ARMA(1,1).
  • The Anderson suitability test is implemented to help researches select stochastic models that can be used with a hydrological variable.
  • The Portmanteau suitability test is implemented to help researchers select between different stochastic models.
  • Import hydrological data from Excel CSV files, ASCII txt files, or directly edit them in the program`s editor, which is fully compatible with Microsoft Excel.
  • The calibration graph (monthly or annual temporal resolutions supported), can be used to facilitate the calibration assessment.
  • Graphical presentation of all the input and computed hydrological variables is available, using monthly or annual temporal resolution.
  • Import / export data from / to Microsoft Excel.
  • Enhanced Microsoft Word reports.
  • Multilevel undo and redo.
  • Compatible with all former versions of the program.
  • Professional reports and printouts in Microsoft Word or directly to the printer.
  • Tip of the day.
  • Full user guide.
  • Tutorials.
  • Live Update.
  • English and Greek interface.
